Design Challenges and Goals

Designing a bespoke wine bar within the constraints of space and temperature sensitivity posed unique challenges. Our team had to engineer cabinetry that would maximize storage without overwhelming the room’s ambiance. Additionally, the wine display required a temperature-controlled system to protect the integrity of the collection.

To meet the client’s needs, we carefully selected materials and employed design techniques that allowed us to integrate form and function seamlessly. A clean, uncluttered look was essential, without compromising bottle accessibility or visual impact.

Craftsmanship and Materials

Our team at Lignum Custom Design took a collaborative approach to the project, working closely with the client to understand their vision. We chose plain slice White Oak with a rich stain and matte finish to set a warm, sophisticated tone throughout the room. The main bar includes a distressed fluted facade with a brass toe kick and white oak interior cabinetry.

The custom wine room features:

• A 400-bottle solid wood wine rack

• Slanted bottle displays with LED-lit shelving

• Temperature control infrastructure

• A base cabinet with adjustable shelves and pull-out drawers

We also created a White Oak wood console with a tapered knife edge, adding a unique visual anchor to the space and additional utility.
