One project that genuinely stands out to us is our work at Bodega Taqueria y Tequila, a Mexican-inspired restaurant in Miami. Our team was challenged to improve the restaurant’s aesthetics and bring warmth and comfort to the customer’s dining experience.
THE CLIENT
Bodega Taqueria y Tequila is a popular dining destination in Miami, renowned for its authentic Mexican cuisine and unique ambiance. The restaurant owners approached us intending to create a speakeasy-style bar in the back of the establishment, complete with reclaimed wood accents, antique mirrors, and an overall warm and inviting atmosphere. They envisioned a space where patrons could relax, enjoy a drink, and catch up with friends in a cozy and intimate setting.
THE CHALLENGE
The owners of Bodega Taqueria y Tequila wanted the bar to have a rustic, vintage feel, which presented a challenge for our team. We had to source materials embodying the old-world charm they were looking for while ensuring the bar was functional and durable. The bar must be designed to complement the restaurant’s decor, lighting, and overall ambiance.
OUR APPROACH
To bring the client’s vision to life, we sourced reclaimed barn wood siding, posts, and beams, which we treated and finished to give them a warm golden glow. We incorporated arched antique mirrors and chicken wire mesh panel inserts into the design to add depth and texture and to provide the bar with an old-world charm.
In terms of functionality, we built a custom bar with a reclaimed wood facade, matching back bar, lighting, and ample storage space. To complete the look, we also designed a DJ booth and fireplace made from reclaimed wood to add a touch of warmth and comfort to the bar area.
RESULTS
The final result of our work at Bodega Taqueria y Tequila was spectacular. The speakeasy-style bar quickly became one of the most popular dining areas in the restaurant, and we received numerous compliments on our work. The owners were thrilled with the result, and we were honored to have contributed to bringing their vision to life.
