At Lignum, we pride ourselves on creating unique and functional spaces that reflect our clients’ styles. Our team has extensive experience fabricating custom kitchen cabinetry and furniture for homes of all types and sizes. In this case study, we will discuss one of four homes we worked on North Bay Road and how we transformed the space into a warm and inviting living environment.
The client, a family of four, wanted to create a simple, elegant, and functional space for their home. They wanted a welcoming atmosphere where they could spend quality time with each other and entertain guests. They wanted to incorporate their love for natural materials, like wood, into the design of their home, as well as their passion for outdoor cooking and dining.
The challenge for us was to create a design that would incorporate the client’s vision for their home while also considering the space’s unique features. The house had an open-plan living and dining area that required a functional and aesthetically pleasing bar and kitchen. The master bedroom also needed a custom headboard and bed platform to complement the home’s overall design.
To meet the client’s needs, our team worked closely with them to understand their vision and design preferences. We also thoroughly assessed the space to identify any challenges and opportunities.
We designed and fabricated a built-in walnut custom bar with a back bar wall unit and counter in the living and dining area. The matte lacquer kitchen cabinets were designed to absorb the natural light in the room, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. We also built an exterior grade IPE wood BBQ kitchen base cabinet, a solid wood table, and IPE-clad columns for the outdoor dining area.
In the master bedroom, we designed and fabricated a custom tufted upholstered headboard and bed platform. The headboard and bed platform complemented the room’s overall aesthetic and provided the client with a comfortable and functional space.
The final result was a warm and inviting home that reflected the client’s unique style and vision. The custom wood bar and kitchen in the living and dining area provided a functional and aesthetically pleasing space for the family to entertain guests and spend time together. The main bedroom’s custom headboard and bed platform provided a comfortable and available space for the client to relax and unwind.
